Sam Smith and John Legend Collaborate for Red Nose Day 2015

Two of the music industry's most recognizable names came together to create a special charity version of Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down" and has been named the Red Nose Day Single. The single was released today on iTunes and you can buy it here. All of the proceeds from the Red Nose Day Single will go to the charity, Comic Relief UK. The single was created to showcase the work of Comic Relief in Africa.  Sam Smith said in a recent interview with Comic Relief about this new single,
"I recently visited a Comic Relief funded project in my home town which supports the young LGBT community in London, I’m extremely proud that my single will help raise money for projects like this and many others in the UK and across Africa.” - Comic Relief 
It is Comic Relief's goal to help the vulnerable and needy all across the UK and Africa through the power of comedy. Comic Relief aims to unite people from all backgrounds to give and help those both domestically and abroad. The money raised by Red Nose Day will go to help Comic Relief's mission of helping and saving those who need it. Red Nose Day is Friday, March 13.


Sam Smith and John Legend single revealed

In celebration of Red Nose Day, Comic Relief UK asks participants to "make their face funny for money." The participants use social media and other fundraisers to get sponsorships for their funny faces and red noses.

Sam Smith and John Legend will be doing a one time performance of their single on Comic Relief - Face the Funny on Red Nose Day. Face the Funny is the biggest television fundraising event in Britain. The telecast, on BBC One, will also feature a danceathon and Mark Watson's 27 hour comedy marathon. 

Red Nose Day is also coming to the US in May. Comic Relief, Inc. will be hosting a three hour telecast on NBC, date to be announced. Comic Relief, Inc hopes to achieve the same goals as Britain's Red Nose Day to help eliminate poverty.
