Lollapalooza Lineup Rumor Roundup 2015

With Lollapalooza tickets going on sale tomorrow (which more than likely will sell out the same day), we can expect a lineup announcement within the next week or two. Here, we've compiled a list of all of the rumors for the 2015 lineup, plus some other guesses based on tour dates.

Update: 3 Day Passes are sold out, and the lineup will drop tomorrow. Read more here!
Update 2: They have began leaking the lineup on Snapchat. Read more here!

         The headliners:
Drake -  Drake is likely not only because he is headlining several other festivals, but also because Andrew Barber of Fake Shore Drive said he was confirmed by an anonymous source.

Metallica  Metallica have strong ties with C3 and Live Nation, and it is strongly rumored that they will be headlining this year. It was previously reported that the band are having financial struggles and headlining a few festivals could definitely help them cover the debt.

Sam Smith - Sam Smith is another favorite as a headliner for this year's Lollapalooza. His tour dates also have a gap during the festival, and he will be in the area.

Kanye West - Kanye West hasn't performed at Lollapalooza since 2008, has a new album coming out, and will be active this summer touring with Rihanna and also headlining Glastonbury. It just makes sense.

Jack White - Jack White has just recently headlined the South American Lollapalooza Festivals, and will also be touring this summer. He hasn't headlined Lollapalooza since 2012 and we're definitely ready for his return.

Florence and the Machine - Florence and the Machine are appearing at almost every festival this summer, and Lollapalooza should be no exception to that. The new album is coming out in a couple months, and there is so much hype.

           The Undercard
Alabama Shakes - Alabama Shakes were on the lineup for Lollapalooza before, but never actually got to perform because of a nasty storm that took place. They are releasing a new album soon and the tour dates leave a gap for Lollapalooza.

Hot Chip - Hot Chip also have a Lollapalooza tour gap, and would be a great late afternoon dance party.

Earl Sweatshirt - Earl Sweatshirt just today released a new album, and announced a tour with a Lollapalooza tour gap!

St. Vincent - St. Vincent played all three of the South American Lollapalooza Festivals, and we expect she will also be at the Chicago edition.

Of Monsters and Men - Of Monsters and Men will be in the area for Squamish Valley, and haven't announced a Chicago date for the tour.

Best Coast - Best Coast announced a huge tour, but with no Chicago date.

Brandon Flowers - Brandon Flowers also has a Lollapalooza gap in his tour dates, and we know that C3 love The Killers, it just seems logical.

Tame Impala - The guys have a new album due out, and are playing minimal festivals this summer so expect them at Grant Park!

Other artists with tour gaps for Lollapalooza include Hozier, Alt-J, Cold War Kids, G-Eazy, Glass Animals, Faith No More, Gaslight Anthem, Odesza, A$AP Rocky, and Father John Misty

  1. Metallica has financial troubles because two "journalists" need to sell their book badly. They used quotes from band members readily available online. Nothing new. Also, a quick check of Boxscore shows that they command 3-5M per festival performance. They're far from in financial trouble. Their appearance at Lolla comes in advance of the new album. Just like the appearance at Bonnaroo preceded the last album.
